INKA CRESSWELL
FILMMAKER I MARINE BIOLOGIST I PHOTOGRAPHER
Through my photography, I tell stories about research efforts, conservation successes and defeats and work to change peoples perspectives of some of our most misunderstood species. From attempting to portray the lesser viewed calm interactions with a cruising great white to documenting the intimate moment an apex predator comes face to face with the free divers working to conserve their species, with every image I attempt to tell a story, educating the public about these unique encounters and the individuals working behind the scenes to save them. - INKA CRESSWELL
Hi, I'm Inka and welcome to my website.
I'm a Bristol-based Wildlife filmmaker and underwater Camera Operator with a B.Sc. in Marine Biology and M.A. in Wildlife Filmmaking from The University of the West of England.
My goal is to be able to use my background in Marine Science to create inspiring Ocean Conservation films that educate and inform the next generation driving real conservation impact.
I also work as a social influencer in the diving industry and give public talks on ocean conservation, conservation filmmaking and marine topics to inspire more girls to become involved in the wildlife filmmaking and STEM industries.
On this site, you can follow my journey and gain behind the scenes insight into what it's like to work as a marine biologist on shark tagging research projects, learn about my work with the National Science Foundation in Chinas jungles and follow along as I pursue my dream of being a wildlife filmmaker.
With over 10 years of SCUBA diving experience, it's fair to say I am obsessed with our oceans. I'm a PADI Open Water Scuba Diver Instructor, TDI technical diver and have experience in underwater field research including AAUS NAUI scientific diver training. My photography galleries and videos I hope will give you a new unique perspective of what its like to dedicate your life to living beneath the waves.
I hope you enjoy the site and please do not hesitate to get in contact with any questions you have or any potential collaborations. I look forward to hearing from you!
